AhaBulb: Stuff Everyone Should Know · ahabulb.com/ham-control-op-privileges
What determines the frequencies a ham station may transmit on?
The license class of the control operator.
- The frequencies printed on the license
- The highest license held by anyone present
- The control operator's license class ✔
Why: The control operator's license class sets the station's transmitting privileges. A Technician at an Extra's station still only gets Technician privileges.
Huh, didn't know that: If the control operator is not the station licensee, both are responsible for proper operation.
Why did the Technician stay in his lane? His privileges said so.
