Where is the sling carry a good choice?
On long walks in open cover, but not in dense brush.
- Crawling through thick brush
- Crossing a fence
- Long walks in open cover ✔
Why: A sling over your shoulder supports the rifle, and you keep a hand on the sling so it does not slip. In thick brush the barrel tip can catch on branches. Then it is time to switch carries.
Huh, didn't know that: A sling also lets you hang the gun from your shoulder and use your hands while standing still.
Why did the rifle sling go to therapy? It had too much hanging over it.
