Which Part 107 rule can the FAA waive with a certificate of waiver?
Operation over people, section 107.39.
- Operation over people ✔
- Carrying hazardous material
- Alcohol and drug limits
Why: Section 107.205 lists the waivable rules, including operation over people, visual line of sight, night lighting and airspace. The hazardous material and alcohol rules are not on the list.
Huh, didn't know that: A waiver request must fully describe the operation and show it can be done safely.
Why did the drone pilot wave at the FAA? He was hoping for a waiver.
